Chacayes Hydroelectric Project in Chile
By offsetting the CO₂* emissions from your products, you are supporting the Chacayes Hydroelectric Project in Chile—a run-of-river hydroelectric power plant in the Cachapoal Valley in Region VI. The power plant has an installed capacity of 110.8 MW and an expected annual net generation of approximately 560 GWh of electricity per year. It uses water from the Cipreses and Cachapoal rivers to generate hydroelectric power. The project creates additional renewable energy capacity and replaces grid power, some of which is generated by fossil-fuel-fired power plants. This results in an annual reduction of approximately 357,000tCO₂e.
