It was introduced by the European Commission in 1992\u2014initially only for products, but since 2000, services have also been eligible for EU Ecolabel certification.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The European Ecolabel is recognized in all 27 EU member states as well as in Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein. It certifies products and services that meet strict environmental criteria throughout their entire life cycle\u2014from raw materials through production and use to disposal.
