Simon Abstreiter of MPV Medical explains why DR.SCHNELL’s new robotic cleaner marks a turning point.
Simon Abstreiter and MPV Medical are introducing service robots into healthcare facilities and promoting their effective use. They also support their customers from start to finish when it comes to cleaning robots. The problem: Until now, there was no cleaning solution specifically designed for robots. DR.SCHNELL changed all that—and is sparking a wave of enthusiasm with its new product, explains Simon Abstreiter.
Question: MPV Medical is introducing robots into the healthcare sector. What exactly does that mean?
Simon Abstreiter: Cleaning robots are in particularly high demand in healthcare facilities, as issues like health and hygiene play a central role there above all. We provide nursing homes, hospitals, and other institutions with suitable cleaning robots and offer support with their use and maintenance. Based on the experiences of healthcare professionals and patients, we develop use cases to ensure optimal deployment.
Question: Are cleaning robots THE NEXT BIG THING, or are we already right in the middle of it?
Abstreiter: Absolutely ! They’re a major topic in the industry, and we’re right in the thick of it. Why? Because the use case is clear, development is gaining momentum, and cleaning robots are incredibly popular.
Question: Who would actually benefit from a robot vacuum?
Abstreiter: The range of applications is very broad. In healthcare facilities, they’re used for wet cleaning—primarily because of the hygienic benefits. What matters to us is that they integrate seamlessly into daily workflows. After all, once users understand and accept the robot, operating and using it becomes a breeze.
Question: How did you first hear about DR.SCHNELL?
Abstreiter: Our robots are in use at many facilities, including a Korian nursing home in Berlin—a DR.SCHNELL customer. During a service visit, Roland Lopin, a healthcare consultant at DR.SCHNELL, discovered our robot. The rest is history. An in-depth discussion followed, after which DR.SCHNELL developed a completely new cleaning product based on the practical experience gained—a product that represents a true revolution.
Question: What are the strengths and advantages of DR.SCHNELL’s new product, which was developed specifically for robotic cleaners?
Introduction: To date, there is no cleaning product specifically designed for these robots. Currently, existing cleaning agents are usually used in the robots. The new product from DR.SCHNELL, on the other hand, actively cleans the robot, significantly reduces limescale buildup and wear and tear, makes it easier to maintain the device, and ensures exceptional cleanliness. It’s the best robot cleaner we’ve ever used here at MPV Medical. Plus, this ingenious product fills a gap in the market!
Question: Where was the new DR.SCHNELL product tested in a clinical setting?
Abstreiter: We tested the product over several months in six facilities: schools, hospitals, and nursing homes. A major advantage of the new product is that it’s compatible with all standard cleaning robots. Since then, the floors in all of these facilities have been sparkling, and after prolonged use, their appearance has visibly improved. This is a whole new level of quality.
Question: What are employees saying after the field tests?
Highlights: Users are raving that the new DR.SCHNELL product is the best robot vacuum cleaner since they started using one themselves.
Question: Would you recommend DR.SCHNELL’s new robotic cleaner?
Abstreiter: Yes , right away! I’ve never seen such a powerful robot vacuum before.
