About the EU Ecolabel

The EU Ecolabel is one of the most important European environmental labels. It was introduced by the European Commission in 1992 – initially only for products, but since 2000, services have also been eligible for EU Ecolabel certification.

The EU Ecolabel is recognized in all 27 EU member states, as well as in Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein. It certifies products and services that meet strict environmental criteria throughout their entire life cycle – from raw materials through production and use to disposal. As a result, the EU Ecolabel serves as an important guide for consumers and provides companies with credible proof that sustainability is being implemented in a measurable and verifiable manner.
